New trial date for Spurlock

John T. Spurlock (Texas), who was scheduled for change of plea this morning, instead asked the court to continue the case. The court has scheduled a trial for Feb. 13, 2006.

Spurlock was indicted on charges related to enticing a minor for sex and transferring obscene material to a minor over the Internet, after allegedly traveling to Kansas City to meet a mother and her two minor daughters (actually an undercover officer). A new trial date for Spurlock has not yet been scheduled.

Trial delayed in counterfeit Lipitor case

The trial for H.D. Smith Wholesale Drug Company, an Illinois corporation indicted for participating in a $42 million dollar conspiracy to sell counterfeit, illegally imported and misbranded Lipitor and other drugs, has been continued. A new trial date has not yet been scheduled.

Mwangi sentencing

A sentencing hearing for Kinu Adju Mwangi (Raytown, MO), who pled guilty to trafficking in counterfeit CDs and DVDs, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, in Courtroom 8B.

Trial delayed for former police officer

The trial for Rick Enss (Norborne, MO), the former Richmond, Mo., police sergeant indicted for enticing a minor for sex and various charges related to child porn, has been continued. Enss' trial (previously scheduled for next week) will be on the criminal trial docket of Feb. 13, 2006.
