Child porn trial

A trial for Bruce Henwood Truesdale, a Jefferson City attorney indicted for possessing and attempting to distribute child porn, has been scheduled for March 20, 2006, at U.S. District Court in Jefferson City.

Waris sentencing

A sentencing hearing for Bill Waris, the former Jackson County official who pleaded guilty to making a false statement to FBI agents, has been scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, in Courtroom 7A.

Jury selection is wrapping up in the capital trial of Edwin R. Hinestroza (Houston, TX), indicted for murder related to a conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of crack cocaine. Opening arguments and presentation of evidence is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday in Courtroom 8A.

Fake Lipitor sentencing

A joint motion has been filed asking the court to continue the scheduled sentencting hearing of Julio Cesar Cruz (FLA), who pleaded guilty to participating in a multi-million dollar conspiracy to distribute counterfeit and illegally imported Lipitor.

Nur sentencing

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Ahmed AbdiNur (KCMO), who recently pleaded guilty to operating an illegal money transmitting business that wired nearly $4 million to the United Arab Emirates and elsewhere. Nur will be sentenced at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 22, 2006, in Courtroom 8C.
