• David Neil Brown (Blue Springs, MO), who pled guilty to receiving child porn over the Internet, will be sentenced at 11 a.m. in Courtroom 7C

Robinson trial

The court yesterday granted a trial continuance for John Edward Robinson, who was indicted for kidnapping resulting in the death of a Michigan woman. Robinson's jury trial, in what is expected to be a death penalty case, is now scheduled for May 12, 2008.

• John L. Heavner (Independence, MO), indicted for robbing the Bank of America in Raytown, MO, change of plea at 9:45 a.m. in Courtroom 8C
• Joseph R. Gabourel (Port Arthur, TX), who pled guilty to attempting to entice a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity, will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 8A
• Tommy Ray Rollins (Grandview, MO), indicted for illegally possessing Molotov Cocktails, change of plea at 1:45 p.m. in Courtroom 7B
• Nathan J. Brinkle (KCMO) and Jonathan Jennings (Lee's Summit, MO), who pled guilty to a scheme to defraud home buyers and mortgage lenders of more than $6 million, will be sentenced today. Brinkle will be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. and Jennnings at 11 a.m., in Courtroom 8E
